This hitch-mounted 5-bike carrier has a tilting design that lets you easily access your rear cargo area. Dual arms with anti-sway cradles securely hold your bikes in place and prevent bike-to-bike contact. Arms fold down for storage when not in use. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar. The Ridge 5 lets you carry 5 bikes on the back of your vehicle and tilts outward for easy access to your rear cargo area. Anti-sway cradles keep your bikes securely held in place on the rack, and the dual arms fold down for storage when not in use. Anti-Sway Cradles This rack has anti-sway cradles that prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-vehicle contact. They grab your bikes by the seat posts and at 2 points on the top tubes. The cradles rotate and slide along the dual arms for proper bike spacing, and rubber straps secure your bikes in place. Folding Dual Arms The rack's dual arms provide excellent bike support and better accommodate bikes of different shapes and sizes. Remove the pin and safety latch in the dual arm base to fold the arms down for storage when not in use. Tilting Design Tilt the Ridge 5 outward (away from your vehicle) to easily access your rear cargo area. Make sure no bikes are mounted before tilting the rack. Just remove the pin and clip at the base of the upright mast to tilt the rack. Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin This rack comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin. The threaded pin reduces noise and movement of the rack in your hitch. For security, a cable lock and hitch lock (SR0022 - sold separately) are available to lock your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.
